Brown Sugar Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients:
1lb Brussels sprouts
1/2 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, finely diced
4 strips bacon, cut in 1 inch pieces (optional)
1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt or to tast
1/2 tsp pepper or to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp brown sugar

Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375F and line
baking sheet with tin foil. Spray foil with non stick cooking spray.
- Clean and Half Brussels sprouts.
Trim the hard stem from the bottom of each Brussels sprout. Cut in half
lengthwise, removing any wilted or dirty leaves as you go. Discard or
compost removed leaves and stems and place halves in a large bowl.

(Depending on the size, you may need to
leave smaller one’s whole or larger ones can be cut in quarters. They should
all be roughly the same size, about bite size.)
- Add onions, garlic and optional
bacon and nuts to the bowl as well.
- Add oil, seasonings to taste, and
brown sugar and mix well to make sure all ingredients are evenly
distributed.
- Place Brussels sprout mixture on
prepare baking tray and spread out over the tray.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes on 375F,
stirring occasionally, until everything is crisped and tended.
- Serve as snack or side dish.
Yields 2-4 servings.
